• Measure your wall before deciding on what size wall art to purchase.

    • Test out your measurements by creating a wall art template. Cut newspaper or wrapping paper to the size of the print or prints. To help visualize different wall art sizes, tape the paper to the wall using painter’s tape .

    • For matted prints, don’t forget to add 1-2 inches to your template to accommodate the frame size.

    • It is a common mistake to select wall art that is too small for your space. Bigger is usually better. A print that is too small can look awkward and misplaced.

    • In looking at the overall wall space dimensions your artwork should take up two-thirds to three-fourths of the wall.

    • Consider hanging multiple pieces together. If displayed as a grid or a gallery wall, this has the same effect as one large piece of wall art.

    • The middle of the artwork should hang about 57 to 60 inches from the floor, or at eye level for most people.

    • When hanging wall art over furniture like a sofa, table, fireplace mantle, etc., the wall art should be three-fourths the width of the furniture and hung 6"-12" above the top.
