Q: Where are you located? Do you travel?
A: Tara Parekh Photography is located in the Washington, D.C. area, and is available for local, state-wide, and international travel.
Q: We wish we could meet with you, but we don’t live in the DC area. Is there an alternative?
A: Yes.  I love to Skype with my clients from all over, even if you are from the DC area.  It makes meeting each other easier no matter where you live.
Q: How early should I book my photographer or schedule my photography session?
A: My schedule fills up quickly, so be sure to make your inquiry as soon as you know enough information. I recommended that you contact me 6 months to 1 year before your wedding date. If you interested in scheduling a family portrait session, I recommend that you contact me 1-2 months in advance.
Q: Are your photography packages customizable?
A: Yes. I offer pre-established photography packages that aim to bundle the most popular services and products, however, you are welcome to alter the packages to fit your budget and photography needs.
Q: I love your work! How do I reserve you as my photographer?
A: After you contact me, I will let you know of my availability, and we will arrange a time to talk on the phone/Skype and/or arrange a complimentary consultation to go over the details. When I receive a signed copy of your contract your date is saved!
Q: Do you require a retainer fee? When is the final payment due?
A: A 30% retainer fee is due at the time you sign the contract. The final payment is due two weeks before your photography session.
Q: Can I use my photographs on social media?
A: Yes! When you receive your final DVD there will be a folder on the disk that contains low-resolution images with my watermark specifically for social media and email. Feel free to show them off, but please keep my watermark on the images.
Q: How much time should we set aside for bride and groom photos during our wedding day?
A: I recommend setting aside at least 45 minutes for bride and groom photos. The more time you set aside, the more creative the bride and groom photos will be. If you have a tight wedding schedule, consider booking a day-after session. Please remember that this does not include the time needed for formal family portraits or photographs of the bridal party.
Q: How many photos do we receive?
A: For a wedding, you can expect around 800 to 1,000 professionally edited photographs. For an engagement session expect around 70 to 150 professionally edited photographs. For a family portrait session expect between 70-200 professionally edited photographs.
Q: Do you edit each photo? Do you outsource your editing?
A: Each photo is individually edited to look its best.  My editing is not outsourced.
Q: How will we receive the final images?
A: Your final images will come on a DVD that will be mailed to you after your wedding or engagement session. The DVD will contain a folder of high-resolution jpgs, a folder of low-resolution jpgs with the Photographer’s watermark. You also will receive a private online gallery with print ordering options.
Q: How soon after the photography session can I expect to see my images?
A: Your images will be ready 5-7 weeks after your event, if not sooner.
